Implementing mobile ticketing and providing direct boarding significantly improve customer service and increase customer convenience.

Gavitec AG - mobile digit is developing a new ticket- and check-in service-system to allow people using their mobile phone as a check-in instrument OR as a web-check-in tool. People can buy tickets via mobile phone and change them into a boarding-pass at the check-in counter. With the web-check-in-system a 2D code (Data Matrix) will be sent to the mobile phone and the passengers can scan this code and print their boarding-pass at the airport. The Gavitec solution means: expensive magnetic stripes were the past , codes will be the future.

Mobile-check-in software application

To use this check-in software application, passengers can register at the airline-provided Internet site and download the Gavitec-check-in-software application. This software enables them to receive live and interactive seat maps on their mobile phone and to make flight bookings, even a mobile check-in would be possible.

Web-check-in application with mobile boarding-pass

To use the web-check-in application, passengers will receive a 2D code (Data Matrix) on their mobile phone after check-in via Internet. No software is necessary. It will be possible to scan a code e. g. from the airline-confirmation-form. At the airport’s check-in counter or self-service-kiosk this code is read by the Gavitec scanner.

Ticket redemption at airports

Passengers can quickly and easily check-in 24 hours prior to departure with their mobile phones and then print a boarding-pass – simply by using Gavitec scanners. Once a flight is booked, the ticket transmission will be effected in form of a 2D code (Data Matrix) via SMS to the passengers mobile phone. This code (the mobile airline ticket) will now be read by Gavitec scanner which will convert the code into a boarding-pass and directly print it.
